I’ll always remember the scene in Inception when Ariadne goes into Cobb’s dream and meets Mal in the hotel room.
Mal questions Ariadne, “Do you know what it is to be a lover? To be half of a whole?”
Never have I felt this more than the weekends my darling, Hoang-Kim, is away from me. Being four hours away may as well be an eternity. When she’s away I feel…lost. I feel purposeless. I lose my concept of time. I forget when I should eat. I forget when I should sleep. I forget what chores I should be doing. I feel as if I am lost. I just miss her unceasingly.
We have assuredly become one, because without you I am alive, but I am not living.
There are so many adventures I can’t wait to experience with you. We will overcome all our fears together. We will overcome our past together. We will grow old together. We will run into battle together. I promise you. Let us make this life in which we have finally found each other a dream. I just want to be with you. Forever.

Collegiate America: One Shining Star
Darling,
It’s finally here! I’m so so proud of all the work you’ve done preparing for nationals. I’ve watched you and helped you bit by bit along the way. Regardless of the outcome, we have both learned and grown a lot since the journey began last summer. The journey has had its ups and downs, but as the hours begin to count down to competition, I feel a sense of unwavering calm and confidence in you.
I have a the gut feeling that if you simply present yourself in the same fashion that I see you, then the pageant will easily find you among the crowd. When we first met I was surrounded by all sorts of women. Many of whom I thought were people I liked. However, when I found you, it was so easy to decide and fall in love with you. There was no rationalization. I simply knew because of your passionate, kind heart and authenticity. You can’t find those in combination very often nowadays.
Just be you, darling. I find who you are, inside and out, to be the most beautiful thing in the universe. I know no one with more love and care as you. Thank you for taking me on the ride with you and I look forward to joining you Thursday evening. From there we will be on this journey together. I’ll be right there by your side no matter what the outcome. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters doesn’t it. Knock em dead, darling. You got this :)

Your love is an incandescent flame, and I wouldn’t know where to go in life without you. You light my path. I love you more than anything in this entire world, and I’m so glad fate has brought us together.
While we were dating, I’d always fall asleep while talking and not even remembering it the next morning, at first my wife gets a bit upset until she started getting use to it :) I still do that sometimes when we just lie in bed chatting next to each other and I just suddenly drops dead asleep haha.
